  6. Hi Knitterbees, I would like to make this for my son for his birthday. He is one of those hard to make for folks, but I think he would love your golf club cover - so thanks so much for making it available. My question to you is that the directions say to use needles to get gauge, but I do not see where the desired gauge is noted. I could have overlooked, and if so sorry to bother. I hate to put in the work to make and have it be the wrong size. No golf clubs here to use to test the size, and I tend to be a loose knitter so sometimes have to do a few swatches to get gauge. Thanks for your help.

    1. Hi Leila,
sorry but i have left gauge detail, and i have given the cover to my colleague as a gift so i cannot tell u what the gauge are. But in my opinion i don't think the gauge matters too much as the golf clubs comes in different sizes anyway. I'm a fairly medium tight knitter and the cover fits my bf's driver (wood #1). hope this helps

    2. Thanks for your quick reply. I appreciate your effort. I will give it a go and hopefully mine will come in a size to fit one of my son's clubs. His birthday is not until June, so I have time to practice - who knows he may have an entire set by the time I am done . His children will love it. It is funny that the only thing I could think that he might use was covers for his golf clubs when I found your blog pattern. He has 2 small children, and they are always talking about angry birds and playing it on the computer, so he will know the character and I think be quite happy with it. Thanks again, it is a really fun pattern that I hope I can make as nicely as you have.

  12. I've cast on 48 stitches as instructed, but it is too short to fit right around the circular needles, so I can't knit the first row. Is there some technique I am missing?

    1. That's the problem I have too! I am fairly 'with it' but I CANNOT figure out the 'magic loop' method!!! I have been at it for several hours now, and end up with a big gap where the join is ...

      Delete
  13. Use the magic loop method of knitting in the round - pull the extra cord of the circular needle through 2 stitches to move it out of the way.

    ReplyDelete
  14. ok, Wendy again, thanks for the quick response, I've gone to the magic loop method (isn't the internet wonderful, what would I have done for instructions before?) and I've completed the 'sock' part. I've just started doing the coloured top and I have another question.

It appears that what I would have expected to be the outside of the cover is on the inside, that is when I am knitting the side facing me is actually the inside of the tube. So unless I am going to turn the bird inside out at some stage (and I can't see that in the instructions) then the finished article is going to end up with the outside being what I would normally consider the back of a stocking stitch piece. I've peered at the pictures and I don't think this is what is shown, but I'm not sure.

    Am I doing something wrong?

    Cheers, Wendy

  15. Alright, I now realise that my last question was a bit silly, I've turned the tube the other way round and am now knitting it the correct way round. Looking good so far,but stand by for more silly questions when I get to the feathers and beak!

  16. I've finished! It took me nearly a week, and I'm an inexpert knitter. I would suggest to anyone else that the eyes get sewn on before you do the beak, I found it quite awkward working around it. Thanks for the pattern and the help folks.

  17. Hi,

I have a query about the beak part of the pattern... the pattern advises to pick up 26 stitches with 4 x 3.25mm DPN's and start from the bottom mid point... am I then knitting with the circular needle or the 4mm DPN's??

    Thanks
    Becca

  18. Hi,
How could I use the same basic pattern to knit some of the other angry bird characters for the golf clubs? Can your plush toy pattern be used?

    Thanks,
    Wendy

  19. I looked and looked for 8 ply weight yarn. No one had ever heard of it! Please explain ....

  20. I decided to just knit it flat after the fiasco with the circular needles. Now my question is: why does the pattern call for changing from 4mm needles to 3.25mm needles? The difference is not even noticeable. Am I missing something?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Where is row 15 and 16 for the beak. Also is there a reason that I couldn't copy these instructions?. ( Pin up girls popped up over all instructions.)

    ReplyDelete
  22. Ref Beak instructions - Do I miss out rows 15 @ 16, or do I continue with the pattern, or just go from row 14 to row 17? I would value your help with this issue. Thank you.

In investing, this translates into investment decisions being driven by fear and greed without being tempered with analysis, reason or balance of risk and reward outcomes. The mania is usually running parallel with the business development of the product, but timing can sometimes run askew. The late 90's technology.com boom and today's cryptocurrency boom are two examples of how a mania operates in real time. The Miami real estate market is expected to offer a vibrant and varied environment in 2023. The city's real estate market is still thriving and provides a variety of choices for investors and homeowners alike. Miami's pre-construction industry is still thriving, with a wide range of creative and interesting projects.Even if the downtown condo market is balanced, investors continue to be drawn to it because of its natural charm. There is still a strong demand for freehold homes, as seen by the frequent multiple bids that they receive.Immigrants and overseas students find Miami appealing, which fuels a persistent demand for housing.Choosing condominiums that are still under construction in 2023 is a good option if you want reasonable price, lots of customization options, and no problems with resale. For those looking to invest in Miami's thriving potential, the real estate market presents an appealing environment given the city's continued growth and allure.
